Somatic Breathwork

Somatic Release Breathwork™ is an embodiment experience. It takes you out of your thinking mind and into your body’s nervous system. This modality employs circular connected breathing coupled with rhythmic music to produce a cathartic emotional release. It allows you to let go of stagnant, unwanted energy within your body by discharging it out through expression. Using the breath, you will engage your innate ability to heal and sweep out any defenses, blockages, restrictions, or pains that hold you back from who you are and how you want to show up in this world.

Your nervous system is the electrical network of your being. Over time, unresolved trauma or chronic stress causes dis-regulation of this network. When dysregulated, difficulties begin to arise in your body and mind. When you heal trauma and stress, you heal the electrical network of your nervous system. When you heal the nervous system, you heal the emotional self so your authentic self can emerge.
Private sessions can be scheduled online via Zoom, or we can arrange to meet in person if that works geographically. I also host group sessions in the Philadelphia area and online! Check the Scheduling page for upcoming events!

Somatic Release Journey

The full Somatic Release Breathwork Session is 90 Minutes. This journey is designed to help you release stored trauma and stuck energy held in the body. This includes 30 minutes of activating breath, and 30 minutes of slowing down and regulating with 4 guided breath holds. I play crystal singing bowls during the session to provide a sound bath; and the healing vibrations from the bowls assist in release and regulation. Session includes time to reflect and share what comes through during the session.
Clients have the option to add on an additional integration call a few days post session to go over any questions or discoveries.
This session is incredibly powerful and may not be recommended for individuals with certain preexisting conditions. Please reach out if you have questions about whether this modality is right for you.

FAQ’s

  • YES! Breathwork has been practiced for centuries, and the modality I facilitate has been practiced for many years without adverse effects. You may experience sensations in the body that feel foreign, but trust your body’s natural ability to take care of you and regulate itself in a safe container.

There are a few specific contraindications for the activating portion of this modality. Please contact me if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, or are currently taking psychiatric medication that may interfere with the practice. We may be able to adjust the intensity and length of time.

  • This modality of breathwork is very powerful, and all of the clients I’ve worked with have reported feeling lighter, clearer, and more energized after the session.

I’ve had clients feel relief from physical ailments such as fibromyalgia, anxiety, brain fog, etc.

Due to the nature of this modality, you may also feel like things are “coming to the surface” after the session. This is also normal, but feel free to reach out if you feel like you need additional support processing anything that comes up.

  • Yes! Honestly, at first it may be uncomfortable. That’s why it’s called breathWORK!

There will also be 4 breath retentions throughout the session where you’ll hold the breath to allow for awareness and restorative energy to build while also increasing your tolerance to stress and c02.

The deep breathing can be tiring, but after a few minutes of developing a rhythm, your mind kind of goes into auto-pilot and allows your body to take over. This is where the deep release and healing happens. Trust me, it may seem intimidating, but it will be worth it, and you got this!
